Textiles allow me to communicate visually and actually with textures, colour and form. I have a keen curiosity to explore and experiment with a variety of media in my textile work.

Continual inspiration comes from experiencing connections I have with my Norfolk surroundings, nature and the changing seasons. Sketchbooks are often a starting point, mark making, collage and paint enabling my ideas.

Currently I have been preparing local sheep and alpaca fleece, spinning, dyeing and creating my own art yarns to incorporate into my stitch and woven designs. The journey of working with raw fibres through to creating a finished piece brings me great satisfaction.

I am also a member of TOPstitch an exhibition group, whose aim is to raise public awareness of embroidery and textile work as an acknowledged and respected art form.
